  • What are lip fillers and dermal fillers, and how do they work?
Lip fillers and dermal fillers are non-surgical cosmetic treatments that use safe injectable substances to add volume, enhance contours, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Lip fillers are used specifically to enhance the lips, while dermal fillers can be used on various areas of the face to restore volume and smoothness. The fillers plump up the treated area, providing natural-looking results.

The Russian Lip Technique is a specialized lip filler technique that involves creating a defined, pouty, and more contoured look using dermal fillers. It can enhance the cupid's bow, create a fuller appearance in the center of the lips, and add volume and lip height for a striking result.
  • What are neurotoxins/anti-wrinkles, and how do they work?
Neurotoxins or anti-wrinkle injections such as Botox, Dysport, and Jeuveau, are injectables that reduce facial lines by relaxing specific muscles. Neurotoxins temporarily block nerve signals to targeted facial muscles, reducing muscle movement and minimizing the appearance of wrinkles.
  • What is the difference between Botox, Dysport, and Jeuveau?
Botox, Dysport, and Jeuveau are similar injectables known as neuromodulators. They all reduce wrinkles, but their potency and onset of effects may vary slightly.
  • What areas can Botox be injected?
Botox can be injected into various areas, including the forehead, between the eyebrows (glabella), and the outer corners of the eyes (crow's feet), to reduce wrinkles and fine lines. We also frequently treat masseter muscles (jaw) for facial slimming and teeth grinding, bunny lines on the nose, brow lift, lip flip, gummy smile and chin wrinkles.
  • How long do the results last?
The longevity of lip and dermal fillers varies from 6 to 18 months, while Botox, Dysport, and Jeuveau typically last 3 to 4 months. Individual results may vary.
  • Does the treatment hurt?
We take measures to ensure your comfort during the procedure. Most patients report minimal discomfort during certain injections but we can apply a topical numbing cream to further ease any potential discomfort. To be transparent, lip injections tend to be the most uncomfortable so we ALWAYS apply topical anesthetic to this area.
  • How long does the procedure take?
On average, lip and dermal filler treatments take around 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the extent of the procedure. Botox/Neurotoxin procedures take a little less time. If you are a new client, we require you to have a 5-10minute full face consultation with our Medical Director, Nurse, Practitioner, or Physician Assistant before your actual treatment.
  • Are there any potential side effects of lip and dermal filler treatments?
Minor side effects are possible but typically temporary, such as redness, swelling, bruising, or mild tenderness at the injection site. These effects usually subside within a few days. Although rare, severe side effects of dermal fillers may include allergic reactions, infections, lumps under the skin, and rare cases of vascular occlusion. Vascular occlusion occurs when a blood vessel becomes blocked, and it is a medical emergency. If you experience sudden severe pain, skin color changes, or vision issues after a filler treatment, seek immediate medical attention or contact us.
  • What is the importance of aftercare and keeping in touch with your injector?
Aftercare is crucial for optimal results and to reduce potential side effects. It's essential to follow any post-treatment instructions provided by our team. Staying in touch with your injector allows us to monitor your progress, address any concerns, and tailor future treatments to your specific needs. We are available 24/7 for you if you have any questions or concerns!
